How to Turn Off Silenced Calls on iPhone

Silencing calls is a great way to prevent spam callers from ringing your phone. However, it can also cause you to miss important calls.

Luckily, you can fix this issue and turn off silenced calls on iPhone. This is done by turning on a feature that blocks unknown callers from ringing your phone and sends them straight to voicemail.

Check the Silent Mode Switch

If you’ve noticed that your iPhone is silent and you haven’t received any calls, there are a few ways to troubleshoot the problem. First, check the Silent Mode Switch on your iPhone to ensure that it is in place and working properly.

The Silent Mode Switch is a small switch on the left side of your iPhone that can be flipped to switch between ring and silent mode. When your iPhone is in silent mode, you should see an orange color on the band behind this switch. To turn silent mode back on, simply flip the switch once again.

You can also disable haptic feedback when in silent mode by turning off haptics in the Sounds and Haptics settings in your iPhone. To do this, go to your Settings app and select the Sound & Haptics section.

Check Your Bluetooth Devices

Bluetooth is a technology that lets you wirelessly connect devices like speakers, keyboards, mice, and printers. It’s also used for connecting mobile devices to your car or a smart fridge, enabling you to control and send information from your device without having to touch it.

Bluetooth works by using 79 different radio frequencies in a band around 2.4GHz. This is much like Wi-Fi, but it uses very little power and doesn’t interfere with other wireless technologies, meaning it can transfer data faster.

When two Bluetooth-enabled devices are within range, they automatically pair with each other. This process happens by scanning for available devices on a network and sending low-level Frequency Hopping Synchronization (FHS) packets between them.

This process takes place several times a second, and devices that are moving too far apart will break the connection. They will then reconnect when they come within range again.

Once the devices are paired, they can communicate in a secure way and transfer data via encryption. This is a great feature for anyone who travels with lots of sensitive data on their devices or doesn’t want to use Wi-Fi when out of range of a strong signal.

Check Your Phone Settings

If you’re receiving a lot of calls from people who aren’t in your contacts list, there’s an easy way to silence them on iOS. The Silence Unknown Callers feature in iOS 13 and later mutes all incoming calls from unknown numbers and people that you haven’t saved or received the phone number for (via text, email, or a call).

If this isn’t enough to stop annoying spam calls, you can also turn off Do Not Disturb on your iPhone. To do this, swipe up from the bottom of your device to bring up the Control Center and tap the small moon icon so that it becomes gray.

While Do Not Disturb does a great job at silencing incoming calls, it can also make you miss some important ones. In order to prevent this, check whether you have Do Not Disturb on a schedule and disable it if necessary.
