Cartagena Private Beach
Cartagena Private Beach
For those wanting to escape the crowds of Cartagena, there are many options for a beach vacation. While some are only a 10-minute boat ride from the city, others require a bit more of an adventure. Regardless, each has its charms and offers something different for those looking for a relaxing getaway in the Caribbean.
The first of the Cartagena Private Beaches on this list is Bendita, an exclusive enclave that is one of the most scenic beaches near Cartagena. This pristine stretch of white sand is flanked by a restaurant and bar, and there are several palapas where you can sit down and enjoy the ocean breezes. While the water is a little shallower than some of the other Cartagena beaches, you can swim out quite a ways and play with the waves in the crystal clear turquoise waters.
You can get to Bendita by taking a local tour or visiting on a day trip from Cartagena. Most vendors offer this option, which includes round-trip transportation and lunch on the island. For those who want to stay at the beach, the onsite hotel has several cabanas for rent that come with the use of all facilities, including the canopy beds on the beach.
Another great beach for an escape is the private beach of Amare, which is a short ferry ride from the city and can be reserved for groups of up to 14 people. Guests will enjoy a welcome glass of champagne on arrival, personal daybeds on the beach and pool, and butler service throughout their visit. The beach has a nice swimming area, and you can also explore the lagoon in front of the club by taking a kayak.
This beach is a favorite for locals, and although it can be busy at times it still remains a pretty mellow place to hang out and relax. Some visitors have complained about the harassment from local vendors, but overall, it’s a good alternative to the more crowded and noisy beaches of Bocagrande.
Another great option for a quiet retreat is Playa Hollywood, which is located in the far western end of Bocagrande and has plenty of space for loungers. This beach is mostly for adults only and can be a great place to relax after a day of walking around the old city. You can grab a snack and a drink at the beach’s restaurant, and enjoy some of the best chicharron in the city! The cocktails here are excellent as well. For those who are looking for a more energetic beach experience, there is a DJ and bar on the premises, which can make for a lively nighttime pool party! Cartagena Private Beach
