How to Turn Off Alarm on iPhone

If you have an iPhone and are having trouble with your alarm not going off, there are several ways to fix it. From turning off your snooze to changing your iPhone’s volume, here are five ways to solve this problem.

One of the easiest ways to fix an iPhone alarm that isn’t working properly is by updating iOS. This usually resolves software bugs that are causing it to act up.

1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button

If your iPhone is constantly waking up or shutting down unexpectedly, you may want to turn it off. This can be a great way to save battery life and prevent accidental shutdowns.

You can either do this by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button on your iPhone, or you can use the side button. Either will work, but the side button is usually easier to find and press.

To make sure that you have the right button, press and hold it for a few seconds until the iPhone logo appears. Once you have done that, release the button.

Another way to turn off alarm on an iPhone is by using Siri. If you know the person who has the problem, you can say “Hey Siri, turn off the alarm on Bob’s phone” and Siri will do the rest for you.

The only downside to using Siri is that you’ll probably have to confirm the alarm on your own phone first. However, it’s an easy and quick solution for those that need help.

Alternatively, you can delete the alarm and create a new one instead of trying to change it. This can help tidy up your list of early morning alarms and ensure that they’re configured exactly how you want them.

If you don’t want to use Siri, or if you just prefer to manually manage your alarms, you can also disable the next wake up alarm by disabling it in the Clock app. This will stop the iPhone from waking up at the next alarm time, which is useful if you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep.

Once you’ve disabled the next wake up alarm in the Clock app, you’ll see a notification that says your alarm is now off. This means that you can’t snooze it or set an alarm time manually, but that you can still use the Do Not Disturb feature to keep your phone from ringing in the middle of the night.

You can also prevent your iPhone from ringing in the middle of the day by pressing the Sleep/Wake button when you receive a call. This is a feature that’s available in iOS 16.

2. Press and hold the Home button

If your iPhone alarm doesn’t ring or you can’t turn it off, you may have a problem with the device’s microphone or speaker. Fortunately, there are several ways to fix these issues.

One way is to change the volume settings on any third-party app you’re using as your alarm clock. This will ensure that the app’s volume is high enough to ring through the phone’s speakers without increasing the iPhone’s ringer volume. If that doesn’t work, try deleting the apps entirely and rebooting your iPhone to see if the problem persists.

Another way to fix an iPhone alarm that doesn’t ring is to reset it manually. This is a quick and easy way to clear any data that might be causing the problem, including all of the third-party apps you’re using as your alarm clock.

However, if this doesn’t fix the problem, there’s one other thing you can do: re-calibrate your Home button. This can make your Home button more responsive, so it’s a good idea to do it regularly.

The process can be a bit confusing, but it’s not that hard. If you’re not sure what to do, check out our guide on how to reset an iPhone with a broken Home button, which will walk you through the steps.

Once you’ve completed the procedure, your device should be able to wake up and function properly again. Just remember that it might take some time before the process completely works, so don’t be discouraged if you have to try multiple times.

In the meantime, you might want to turn on Siri, which can help you perform a variety of tasks like answering your calls, setting reminders and accessing the camera. Simply press and hold the Home button to enable Siri, or type “Hey Siri” to trigger Apple’s voice assistant.

If none of these methods fixes the issue, it’s probably time to visit the Apple Genius Bar for a more permanent solution. They’re usually very helpful and will be able to get your device working again quickly. They’ll also be able to let you know when you can expect your device to be fixed at their store.

3. Press and hold the Lock button

If you’re the proud owner of an iPhone, you may be familiar with the alarm feature. Whether it’s a snooze button, a vibration pattern or a song from your iTunes library, you can customize your alarm to suit your preferences.

It can be frustrating to wake up to an iPhone alarm in the middle of the night, especially when you’re trying to get some sleep. And even more irritating when it’s a sound your spouse likes to listen to while they’re sleeping.

Luckily, there’s a way to turn off the alarm on an iPhone without having to get up and start fiddling with the device. The trick is to use the Lock button in combination with another button.

The first part of the trick is to press and hold the Lock button (on an iPhone with Face ID) or the Home button (on other iPhone models). The on-screen slider appears, but it won’t unlock your device until you drag it to the right with your finger.

You might need to try this several times before you find the perfect configuration for your situation. For example, you may need to adjust the speed at which you press and hold the button to get Siri to respond to your request for a “snooze” on the iPhone’s clock app.

In any case, if you’re looking to disable the alarm on your own iPhone, this is one of the best ways to do it. Not only will this help you sleep better, but it also means that your family members can’t annoy you by setting the alarm at the wrong time and/or volume.

In addition to the Lock button, other key features of the iPhone that you’ll want to keep an eye out for are the Live Activities on the screen and the app switcher buttons that let you close and reopen apps. The iPhone also has a few clever tricks for navigating the display, including the ability to see notifications and play back media.

4. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again

If you’ve got an iPhone and are tired of hearing someone else’s alarm go off in the middle of your sleep cycle, there are a few ways you can turn it off. One way is by using Siri on your device.

If the person whose iPhone is causing the noise has an iPhone in the same Family Sharing group as yours, you can use Siri to stop the alarm on their phone. Simply say, “Hey Siri, turn off the alarm on Anna’s iPhone.”

Another way to get an alarm to stop is to delete it. To do this, open the Clock app on your phone and go to the Alarm tab. Once there, swipe left on the alarm you want to remove and tap Delete.

You can also do this by going to the Edit screen and tapping the red minus sign next to an alarm you don’t need anymore. Repeat these steps until you’ve removed every unwanted alarm from the Clock app.

There are a few reasons why you might need to delete an alarm on your iPhone, including if it’s not working correctly or doesn’t sound right. Sometimes, you can fix problems like this by restoring your iPhone to factory settings.

However, this isn’t always the best way to solve the problem. For example, if you have a third-party app that’s causing the alarm to ring too softly, you might need to delete it completely and reboot your iPhone.

Similarly, if you have Bluetooth headphones on and they’re playing the alarm through the headset instead of through your phone speakers, you might need to disable them in order to hear the alarm. If that doesn’t work, you might need to reboot your iPhone and then try to use the stock alarm clock again.

You can also remove a wake-up alarm from the Health app on your iPhone. To do this, go to Health and open the Browse tab. From there, scroll down to the Sleep app and select Full Schedule & Options. After that, you’ll need to edit the sleep schedule whose alarm you want to remove. From here, you can remove the alarm and the schedule from your iPhone’s system.
